Markus Pertlwieser to leave Nordnet Germany – Arno Walter appointed new Country Manager

Nordnet today announces changes to the management of its German operations. Markus Pertlwieser is leaving his role as Country Manager for Germany to pursue a new opportunity outside the company. He will be succeeded on August 1 by Arno Walter, who will take over as interim Country Manager for a period up to 2 years.

Markus Pertlwieser took office as Country Manager for Nordnet Germany during 2025. He has now decided to leave Nordnet to take a position at a non-competing company within the German financial sector.

Arno Walter is a well-known name within the German financial industry, possessing long and solid experience from various senior roles within the sector. Among other positions, he has served as CEO of Comdirect – one of the leading German digital platforms for banking and investment services – and held several executive roles within Commerzbank. Since 2024, Arno has served as an advisor to Nordnet ahead of the upcoming launch in Germany.

“I would like to extend a big thank you to Markus for his important contributions during his time at Nordnet and wish him the best of luck and success in his new role. At the same time, I am very pleased to welcome Arno Walter as our new Country Manager. Having worked with Arno during his time as an advisor to Nordnet, I know that his broad experience from the German financial sector and his well-documented strong leadership make him the right person to take over from Markus during the exciting phase we are in,” says Rasmus Järborg, CEO of Nordnet.

Arno Walter looks forward to taking on his new, more operational assignment.

“It is with pride and great commitment that I take on the role of head of Nordnet’s German operations. Nordnet is the leading savings platform in the Nordic region, and participating in the launch of the company’s services in Germany is an incredibly exciting project. Nordnet has 30 years of experience in savings and investments, combined with innovation, fresh thinking, and digital leadership. It is precisely this combination that makes the role so interesting and provides us with the right conditions to achieve success in the German market,” says Arno Walter, incoming Country Manager at Nordnet Germany.

As previously communicated, Nordnet plans to launch its operations in Germany during the second half of 2026.
