The magazine Privata Affärer, the largest private finance magazine in the Nordic region, each year carries out a survey among the Swedish banks and gives out a number of awards. This year, the survey is carried out for the 28th time, and Nordnet receives the award “Savings innovation of the year”. The background to the award is the stock lending program that Nordnet presented in October earlier this year.

The award “Savings Innovation of the Year” is a proof of what we are fighting for every day – to increase the return of our customers’ investments through innovative thinking and a will to change traditional structures, says Martin Ringberg, Country Manager at Nordnet.
Through the stock lending program, Nordnet’s customers are given the possibility to get extra return on the stocks they have invested in. The return is made possible by Nordnet lending out the stocks to external parties, e.g. global investment banks. The borrowers pay a fee to Nordnet, which after deduction of the agent’s fee is split between customers and Nordnet.
– With our stock lending program, we create a third type of return on stock investments in addition to value increase and dividends. We are the first company in Sweden with a program of this kind. For the first time, the Swedish savers are in a transparent way able to receive a type of compensation that earlier has been reserved for the large institutions, says Martin Ringberg, Country Manager at Nordnet.
