The Red Dot Award is one of the world’s largest and most prestigious design awards and is presented each year by the German organization Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen. The award was founded in 1955 and the jury consists of 24 international design experts. The winners are distinguished by their exceptional quality in product and communication design.

User experience, modern design and frequent releases are key words in how we work with development, and we are incredibly happy that the jury has given us this recognition, says Rasmus Järborg, Chief Product Officer at Nordnet.
Companies, designers and agencies from all over the world enter their creative projects for the competition, and prizes are awarded in the three categories Brands & Communication, Product Design and Design Concept. The number of contestants was record high this year. Nordnet receives an award in the main category “Brands and communication” and the subcategory “Finance apps”. Nordnet’s mobile app in its current design was launched in 2018, and a new version is released on average every nine days. The app has in a short time become much appreciated by users, and today around 60 percent of Nordnet’s 1.5 million customers only or mostly use the app. During the first half of 2021, around 30 percent of all trades on Nordnet’s platform were made through the app.
– We see that the mobile phone is becoming an increasingly important channel for personal finance, and more than half of our customers today use only or mostly the app to log in to Nordnet’s platform and review their savings. The app is a high priority for both us and our customers, and therefore it feels extra special to receive such a prestigious award as Red Dot, says Rasmus Järborg, Chief Product Officer at Nordnet.
